Best Ford SUVs for Gas Mileage

Recently, Autoblog came out with a list of best gas mileage SUVs for 2022 – both hybrids and gas engines. A vast majority of those SUVs are ones that we carry here at the Kelly Automotive Group. Three of those vehicles on Autoblog’s list – the 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid, 2022 Ford Escape (gas) and 2022 Ford Bronco Sport – are available at Kelly Ford in Beverly, MA.

Ford Escape Hybrid – 41 mpg (44 city / 27 highway)

The Ford Escape Hybrid, which made a comeback back in 2020, has earned solid fuel-economy ratings from the EPA. In addition to those impressive ratings, the Escape Hybrid has an estimated range of 582 miles per tank, which is more than enough for a one-way trip from Sacramento to San Diego.

Ford Escape – 28 city / 34 highway

A wide range of powertrains are available on the Ford Escape – starting with a 181-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that can have either front or all-wheel drive. The turbo three provides adequate acceleration and has the capability of an AWD Escape SE to go to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds on Car and Driver’s test track.

Ford Bronco Sport – 25 city / 28 highway

After the Bronco Sport made its comeback back in 2020, the rugged SUV continues to impress. In addition to being on Autoblog’s best SUVs for gas mileage list, the Bronco Sport has also taken home a Top Safety Pick + Award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
