Ford Escape Adds More Features
After months of speculation on what we can expect in the 2023 Ford Escape, we finally have an answer. We have known for quite some time that the mid-size SUV will be undergoing a mid-cycle refresh, but that’s about it. Now, we can say with certainty that the new Ford Escape will arriving with a host of new and updated features and will be making its official debut October 25th.
According to Ford Authority, while the 2023 Escape represents a refresh for the crossover and not a total redesign, there are quite a few notable changes taking place. For starters, the SUV is receiving a totally new, revamped Ford Escape trim level lineup compared to the 2022 model.
The SUV will also offer both the standard 8-inch screen and a larger 12.3-inch unit that is optional on Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, and PHEV trims, as well as standard on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum. This is quite a big change from the current model, which boasts a standard four-inch screen, as well as an optional 6.5-inch unit for SE and SEL trims and a standard four-inch screen, along with a standard 12.3-inch screen for the Titanium.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Ford Escape will pair the 8-inch digital instrument with an 8-inch infotainment system screen or optional 13.2-inch unit, as Ford Authority reported earlier this fall. That extra space will be used to display a wide range of useful information including the crossover’s trip computer, outside temperature display, messaging center, Ice Blue lighting, and EcoMode.
Aside from those changes, the 2023 Escape is also set to receive a host of additional updates, including revised exterior and interior styling, as well as an upgraded Ford Co-Pilot360 safety system that adds rear cross-traffic braking. In addition to the completely new trim lineup, the Escape will now have a plug-in hybrid standing on its own and the Active joining the group.
