Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Earn IIHS Top Safety Awards

Ford’s commitment to safety continues to shine through, with both the 2024 Mustang Mach-E and the 2024 Ford F-150 earning top honors in the latest Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awards. These accolades underscore the impressive safety features and performance of two of Ford’s most popular models, proving that safety remains a top priority across their entire lineup.

According to Ford, the Mustang Mach-E received a TOP SAFETY PICK + award for models built after August 2024, while the F-150 truck models earned the TOP SAFETY PICK for models built after September 2024.

These awards honor vehicles that excel in the IIHS’ demanding crashworthiness and crash-avoidance tests. To earn a TOP SAFETY PICK, a vehicle must achieve good ratings in the small overlap front and updated side tests, as well as an acceptable or good rating in the original moderate overlap front test. Additionally, the vehicle must demonstrate effective pedestrian front crash prevention and have acceptable or good-rated headlights available across all trims. For the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation, vehicles must meet the same criteria and achieve at least an acceptable rating in the updated moderate overlap front test.
